My iPhone has been stolen during the transit!

I am extremely depressed right now, hope anyone can help me and give me some advice.

Here’s the story:

I purchased an iPhone off ebay for around 800 bucks. I made the payment on 4th September, then ebay sent me an email 2 days later told me that the item has been canceled due to violation or sth like that. I then emailed the seller, he replied: “I’m guessing because the original winner of the auction was a fraud and I reported him to Ebay. But your phone is on it’s way as I had already mailed (a couple of days ago) when I got this message.” ( I was the second chance offer winner)

A few days later I found out that this seller has deleted his ebay account and it became no longer registered. I then filed a claim on Paypal, but it seems Paypals not standing by my side because the seller has provided the tracking number. fair enough..

Today I finally received the package, however, it was just an empty box!! And a letter attached to the box, says:

“We regret to inform you that the attached ordinary international parcel CJ****7145US, addressed to Peter ******************** was received from overseas in a violated condition.

One iPhone has been stolen from the item. A verification note has been raised with the overseas office concerned. CN24 report attached.

Any customer compensation enquiries and complaints are to be handled according to procedure.

According to the report, the package was originally weighted 1.3 lbs, then was observed only 0.28 lbs when arrived in Australia.

I knew there was something wrong because the whole thing was so weird, but I just can’t believe that it has been stolen by a theft! I have never had anything like this happen to me before. I doubt that Paypal will give me any compensation because they might claim it’s USPS or AUSPOST’s responsibility? I took the package to the post office this afternoon, they told me that I will only get up to 100 dollars compensation because I didn’t pay any insurance.

Well, I really don’t know what to do.

Unlock my iPhone!

Finally iPhonesimfree.com releases its long-waited iPhone unlocking software. However, according to the official announcement, the software will be only distributed to resellers. Luckily enough I found a local reseller and ordered the software for AUD$59, hopefully I will be getting it tomorrow. I will let you knwo if it works on my iPhone.
